The first truly crisp, cool, sharp-aired day of autumn is invigorating. I can't wait to get outside tomorrow and work in the yard, which makes a pleasant change after the long hot days of summer.
The paint is looking very good, the more I live with it the more I like it. Tuesday is pick fabric for the reupholstering day-the floors will be in soon-and I can't wait. I just wish that the economic climate wasn't quite so dire, as I feel quite guilty splashing this money around just now, even though we had planned and saved.
It took me half an hour the other day to find a certain paperback wanted on a trading site-so the first rainy day needs to be sort the books day. I need to cull hardbacks and donate to the library book sale, and rearrange the trading stock so I don't drive my self crazy. It seems that the trading picks up once summer is over and readers feel the need to stockpile for those long winter's nights. I know I do.
The wedding plans go on apace as well, with the church and reception locations booked, and appointments with caterers, photographers and dress consultants booked for the weekend that the bride can get home. I am feeling much better about all of it now that the two places are settled-I was having nightmares of a scarcity of even fire halls, and tents in the side yard and neighbors hanging over the fence watching the first dance. They haven't figured out what to do for the mini-honeymoon yet, but thankfully that is not part of my "wedding-planner" responsibility!
The sky is full of quickly moving high clouds against the blue, and the light is soft...time for a walk before dark.
