Don't get me wrong-I have plenty I should do, lots I could do, and much I might do-but nothing I MUST do-for the first time in at least a month. I'm giddy with it.
Woke up when John's alarm went off-he does have work today-read for a while, then dozed. My alarm clock went off (The voice of Jeeves telling me the Prime Minister had called-twice....too too funny) and I turned it off and rolled over for more dozing. Hungry cats did put the kibosh on that.
Up and dress, feed the cats, fill the bird feeders, fill the suet cages, make tea, drink tea, watch birds, check in with favorite sites on the web, make more tea, greet contractor (today is the attic trip-stay tuned), call the prospective florist, call DD, decide to hire florist, call florist back to tell her-expressions of mutual pleasure-she is great to work with so far--and would, I am sure, be a wonderful friend as well. I feel good about all our vendors--all found by word of mouth. Hope it holds true all the way through.
Attic report-nothing. No wet marks, no holes in the roof seen from below, no drippy insulation. Possible dark spot seen in distance, but where the roof meets the joist it is 6" tall-not much headroom. First sunny still day, he'll go up on the big ladder to do an outside check. Right now it is too windy, and too cold.
The mystery continues.
I think I'll go read myself into a nap. Tea, book, candle, cat, blanket, chair, footstool. All that is currently required for state of perfect bliss.
