Had my hair done!

Well, a cut. We don't get our hair "done" the way our mothers did-every week, faithfully. Wash, set, dryer time, comb-out. A perm every 6 weeks. The other women who had appointments at the same time became a little club-gossip under the hairdryers. A guaranteed hour or so of "me" time. It seems much harder to carve that out now, much less schedule it regularly. The best I can do is the occasional manicure-much as I would like to do a whole day-mani, pedi, massage, facial....too expensive and no time. I plan to book everything before the wedding-but that is 138 days away! How lovely to do a mani once a week, a pedi once a month, and a facial and massage every fortnight! First thing I book when I win the lottery. A whole year.

There is hope for snow-Friday night into Saturday. I ask anxiously about the family's plans, because I want them home and safe and content, not on the road, or whining because they can't be on the road. But Saturday looks pretty good. No tournaments, no basketball games, no romantic dinner plans. So cross your fingers and do the snow dance. I have also heard that wearing pajamas inside out has a marked effect on the winter weather. I may try that too. I want snow!
