watched the rain.

It rained all night and all day and so far (fingers crossed, candles lit to the household gods, libations drunk) I see no evidence of any rain coming in where we had the big bad spot. We'll see. Sometimes water takes its own sweet time to go where its going.

I wanted snow. I wanted ice and snow and gorgeous sunlight the next day, prisms on the branches and clean white blanket on the brown and dreary yard.

But you can't always get what you want. I did have a relatively quiet day-one short meeting with a county library fundraiser (for advice, not $$$-if I had it, I would give it, but right now all my 'ready' is tied up between the house excitements and the wedding to come.)

Spent some time online with a handy Dell guy fixing up virus protection, etc. on the three computers (I paid for the year long support, I'm going to get my money's worth) and now I have one cat curled up right against my side and the other perched at the end of the couch. I need to move us all into the family room and light a fire. And make dinner. Something that can be eaten out of one big bowl. I don't have the makings of stew-or do I? Off to check the freezer.
