pondered the twists and turns of fate

"Things happen for a reason" is a mantra that I have heard from many for years-but usually in retrospect. It is less than no help in the middle of the inexplicable, or dreadful, or just flat out unfair time. Trying to choose which road to take when they both seem to twist immediately over a cliff into a dark impenetrable forest is a mind-numbing process...and the more advice is sought, the more confusing and frightening it becomes. I guess the only thing to do is vow to not look back or wonder about the road on the other side...just start walking and keep putting one foot in front of the other, trusting that somewhere in your gut, there is a reliable compass.
And if a helping hand comes out of the gloom-just take it. And remember to pass it on someday. That's so much better than stiff-necked independence ;-)
